Keeping Up with Paul's Pace ~ April 2004

Hey Y'all,

Hope everyone had a wonderful Easter and that the spring weather finds you warm and sunny. Of course, those of you in Nashville and middle Tennessee know that's a bunch of bull with the rain and cold here in mid-April.

For all of you keeping score, this is my 15th year of making music for a living. Yes, it's hard to believe that in 1989 I joined the "Kintuck Band" and started making some noise around central and eastern Kentucky with guys like Chris Patrick, Shannon Link, and Mike Childers in places like the Plaza Lounge in Morehead, Ralph and Betsy's in Paris, and who can forget Jesse's Lounge in Lexington (STILL the only place I've played where we swept up bullets to set up drums).

I've played a lot of towns, met a lot of people, and love it more than ever. Thank you to all who have supported me over the years and to those who still show up even though they've heard some of the same songs a million times.

I want to start writing a letter like this every month just so I can keep you updated with everything that's going on with me. When I see you at the shows, I don't get much of a chance to visit and talk like I want to, so this is my way of letting you know "How things are going" and all. As of right now, I am working with a wonderful producer on some new recordings with some great new songs. I hope to get some new stuff out before fall, but those things are just out of my control.

The current CD is still getting great reviews and a lot of airplay overseas, and I thank all of you for making it possible. I still enjoy my regular gig at Rippy's in Nashville, so if any of you are planning to come to town anytime soon (hint, hint, Fan Fair people) please come see me between your autograph sessions. I may not be as pretty as some of them other guys, but I still like to see ya--ha, ha--and it's some of the best food you'll ever put in your mouth. I still love coming home for the Jamboree, and thank you to WTCR for all of the continued support.

That's enough for now, but stay in touch and keep it country.

May God bless you in every way as He has for me,
Paul Pace
